Welcome to the enchanting world of Kitty Café, located at 31-37 Friar Ln, Nottingham, NG1 6DD. This delightful cat café offers a unique haven for feline enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. What sets Kitty Café apart is its dual purpose: not only is it a charming café serving delicious food and drinks, but it also operates as a rescue center dedicated to saving and rehoming cats.
As you step inside this inviting space, you are greeted not just by the warm, friendly staff but also by the gentle presence of around 30 adorable cats, each with their own distinctive personality. From curious ginger Paul, known for his charming head tilt, to playful kittens bounding across the floor, the atmosphere is infused with a sense of joy that only these furry companions can provide.
The entry fee, which is a modest £8 for adults and £6 for children, supports the well-being of the cats, ensuring they receive proper care and shelter. It's a small price to pay for the chance to enjoy close interaction with these lovely animals while sipping on a delightful selection of hot and cold drinks, or indulging in a tasty array of menu items like loaded nachos, jacket potatoes, and scrumptious toasties.
Guests rave about the quality of the food, often noting that while prices may be slightly higher, the experience and the cause make every penny worthwhile. The atmosphere is relaxed yet joyous, making it an ideal spot for both casual visits and dedicated cat lovers. The staff is not only helpful but also knowledgeable about the cats, ready and eager to share their stories, enhancing the connection between patrons and their feline friends.
However, visitors gently remind everyone that maintaining the peaceful environment is crucial, especially for the cats' well-being. A bit of consideration—particularly regarding young children—can help preserve the soothing atmosphere that makes Kitty Café so special.

We happened to find Kitty Cafe quite by accident while wandering in Nottingham, we had no idea it was here. Being a cat loving family with three of our own cats at home, we of course had to pop in for a visit. Despite being just after 5pm, they welcomed us as walk-ins and allowed us to stay until closing. You pay a small fee which goes towards looking after the cats. Then they have a varied menu of cakes, toasties, desserts and the like. I personally felt the prices weren't bad at all. Staff are all friendly and clearly all care about the cats, they were very willing to talk to you about any of the cats you had questions about. At the time of our visit, they had 24 cats in a range of ages. Cats being cats, they all have their own personalities but they're all good with humans, especially when you have food! Have to love ginger boy Paul who tilts his head to the side, he always looks like he's curious. I understand he had an ear infection as a kitten and it's affected his sense of balance which is why he tilts his head. He was a lovely wee boy though. Naturally we had to pay a second visit on our second day in Nottingham, and we will absolutely visit again if we're ever back in Nottingham.

At the moment, there are 12 cute kittens running around. There is a fee to get in, but it's a charity, so it goes to a good cause for rescuing and rehoming cats and kittens. It's a lovely clean cafe. You can buy drinks and food. There are items of clothing, toys, and accessories to buy also

Come here all the time, absolutely love it. All the cats are so sweet, more are playful than others but that’s just how they are. Food is great and so are the drinks, a little expensive but worth it because of the kitties. Staff are usually quite friendly and talkative too. Only thing that sometimes ruins it is parents who bring their small children around and let them just run about tormenting the cats… Please keep an eye on your kids

Cat-themed cafe for cat lovers in downtown Nottingham. The eight pounds adult entry, £6 kids, is a welfare fee for looking after the kitties, and then there is table service of (non-alcoholic) hot and cold drinks, and snacks (jacket potatoes, toasties, etc.). There are about 30 cats here, and you’ll enjoy lots of close contact with them. It’s lovely to watch them play. Kitty Cafe is also a cat rescue centre. Tasty food and coffee. There is a merchandise range too (see priced list in my photographs). Highly recommended for cat lovers ⬛

Went early in the morning around 10am when it opens, served by a lovely, young lady that spoke so softly. Paid £8 per person entrance fee which goes towards the care of the cats which we were of course truly okay with. We sat at our table, ordered our food shortly, 2 lattes and the loaded nachos - nice and simple! The cats come up to you, no need to bother them. I will highly recommend if you have children under 10, do not bring them here if they can't behave - there's no need to stress the staff and cats out. Overall, myself and my fiance really enjoyed our stay, really nice coffees, and a quiet atmosphere in the morning, staff are absolutely lovely and show you where everything is, they are impeccable and don't get enough credit for this job (I know how stressful hospitality can be) All the cats are amazing, especially the cute little ginger that always has a tilted head and looks like he's curious all the time Thank you for the amazing experience, staff.

The atmosphere was lovely. Friendly staff and tasty food. Everything was at a reasonable price - especially when you factor in costs for animal care, on top of running a business. It was lovely to see the cats having fun with enrichment all around them. I've attached some of my favourite photos.

What a great idea this is and it fits perfectly having kids to go see and be with the cats. Great food, great coffee, feels like an hour is just enough time to be there. I love the cats have been given a second chance to be here is just amazing! What a great idea. Will be back when in the area again for sure
